Vanessa, mother of 11 month old Peter, is looking for some activities for children that she can do with her son.
“My son Peter is 11 months and extremely active. He is always on the go and seems interested in absolutely everything! I have been thinking more and more that I should get out and do some activities with him as I think he’s getting to the age where he needs a bit more stimulation and to tell the truth I get a bit bored sitting at home with him all day so I would really like to get out too.
I’m just not sure what he would enjoy and was hoping I could get some advice from some other mums. He’s an active kid so something physical would be good, but baby gym classes are really expensive and I’ve heard mixed things about them. I don’t want to pay a fortune for something that we’re both going to hate. I would also like to do something where I could meet some other mums with children close to Peter’s age.
I would be really interested to know what other mums have done with their babies, and what they would recommend doing. What activities are great and what are just a waste of time? And how many activities do people do? I don’t want to be rushing around constantly but I don’t want Peter to be under stimulated or miss out on opportunities the other kids have.”
What activities do you do with your baby or young child? Are you constantly flitting from place to place or do you prefer to take it easy and just do one or two things? Whatever you do, please tell us about it and help Vanessa find an activity that both her and Peter can enjoy. By answering a few questions you can help other mums find the right activities to do with their children. Thanks, Shona x
