Chantel, mum to
6 month old Oliver is looking for some advice on how to help him with teething
pain.
“About a week ago, I noticed Oliver seemed to be fussier than usual. He is producing an enormous amount of drool and has a red rash on his cheek and chin. I think he might be teething so I checked but can’t see or feel anything yet, but there is a bit of redness on his front bottom gum.
I’m not sure if it’s teething or something else. I wish I knew for certain because he would much rather suck on anything and everything than my breast and in the past week he hasn’t eaten much at all. His sleep is all over the place and its making things really difficult for me and my husband. I can’t imagine going through this till all of his teeth come through! My husband’s mum told me I should buy some tooth gel, but I’m just not sure if it’s safe to give to a 6 month old baby.
It would really be helpful if I knew what other mums did when their babies started teething. Did they use remedies like teething gel? Did it help? I could really use some suggestions on safe remedies I can use to relieve his teething pain.”
If you have gone
through or are going through the teething process with your baby, please tell us about it so we can
share your advice with Chantel. By sharing your experiences we can find out
what worked well for other mums and hopefully help Chantel and Oliver.
