Carla, 24 weeks pregnant is suffering from unexplained
sharp pains and she is finding them a bit worrying.
“My pregnancy has been smooth sailing so far, very little nausea, a bit of tiredness earlier on but since about 14 weeks I’ve felt mostly fantastic. I’m getting a bit bigger but still not at the uncomfortable stage yet but I have started to have these weird stabbing pains down one side of my belly.
I went to the doctor and she said it was just round ligament pain which is apparently perfectly normal but it really hurts! It can’t be normal and I’m getting really paranoid that something is wrong. My husband and friends say not to worry but things keep on turning over in my mind. They seem to come on without warning although they get worse after I’ve been on my feet all day and they are so sharp they literally take my breath away.
Has anyone else experienced ligament pain like that? If so, what can I do about it? My doctor was really unhelpful& basically said I just have to put up with it but there must be something! If any other mums or mums to be have any ideas I would really appreciate it!”
Have you suffered from round ligament pain during a
current or previous pregnancy? If you have been there and have any advice for
Carla, please tell us about it here and help Carla and other mums to be like her
who might be suffering from ligament pain during their pregnancy. Thanks, Shona
