Working while pregnant

Working while pregnantHayley, 28 weeks pregnant, is struggling to combine pregnancy and work.

“I love my job and I was planning on working right the way through my pregnancy but lately I’m finding it harder and harder to focus.  I’m so exhausted all the time and really emotional.  I started crying in the office the other day just because a client was a bit grumpy with me on the phone and I’m finding it uncomfortable sitting at my desk as my bump is in the way. My back is sore and my head feels like it’s stuffed with cotton wool most of the time.  I’m usually a really together, organized person but I keep forgetting things and I feel so vague half the time, it’s embarrassing and I feel like I’m letting everyone at work down.  I still have 8 weeks before I go on maternity leave and I honestly don’t know how I’ll get through it! Other pregnant women seem to manage to keep on top of things so why can’t I? I was wondering if this is normal and what other pregnant women do to stay focused at work?”

If you are working and pregnant, or have worked during pregnancy, please tell us about it and help Hayley balance impending motherhood and her career.  By sharing your experience of working while pregnant you can support Hayley and help other mums to be who might be struggling to cope with their conflicting demands. Thanks, Shona x50points reward
